A Blanket of Snow…….Geese

Birds and Geese 026

Traveling back to my favorite wildlife preserve, Blackwater Marsh; on this day the wildlife was in short supply. Just as I was parking the car and getting organized, a large flock of snow geese descended on a nearby pond. Unfortunately, I wasn’t set up to catch them in flight (which was beautiful), so I settled for snapping a shot of the geese covering the surface of the water.

In spite of the lack of active wildlife, it was a beautiful day.  The sun was shining, and even though it was a tad cold it was still a great day to be out and about.

  1. Are they called snow geese because they look like snow, or because they’re fleeing from it? 😉 What a beautiful day!
