Fall Fog

A common occurrence here year round is the fog, and fall is no exception.   This is the only place I’ve been where the wind can be blowing at 20 mph and it will still be foggy.     The frequent intersection of temperature and dew point combined with warm air aloft blowing over cold water make fog a regular visitor.

Hiking in the fog is very peaceful.    Everything seems just a little more muted, a little more quiet.   Below are a few foggy fall scenes from a recent hike around Witch Hole Pond.

Getting close to peak. Forecast to be quite “breezy” the next couple of days. Hope it doesn’t bring all those leaves down. I’m not finished photographing them!

  2. Love your pictures!!! Looks so beautiful there in the fall!
