Portrait of a Tree – XII

When hiking the trails in Acadia, it is wise to concentrate on where your feet are due to numerous rocks and tree roots.    I’ve found many interesting tree stumps, fallen trees, driftwood and so on while looking down.  But every now and then, I just need to stop and look up.   That’s what happened yesterday along Jordan Pond when I saw this beautiful tree against the sky and the mountains in the background.
